I dont feel like an artist.

I dont think I ever really have.

I need to get over this.

This strange invisible burden that every time I come to school people are looking at me funny.
I think it's just my own eyes watching me.

Nahh, don't feel too bad. It's really difficult up until maybe your second semester of your Junior year. MCAD is a little frustrating because they definitely cater to a very specific (pretentious) kind of artist. BUT, MCAD is also amazing because after you move past that initial hesitation, they teach you REALLY WELL how to market YOUR style and YOUR art, and your TYPE of art.

Right now also is a really, really good time to be a freelance artist because of the market. Rini, I can't even BEGIN to list how many doors are open for people who can draw. There are just so SO many things you can do - that YOU can do. You can animate, illustrate AND make pretty damn good comics. People with that many different traits are a much sought out commodity.

It may be a little frustrating at first but I think in the end, you'll come to love your art a lot. I mean, hell, I got shit all four years of my MCAD career for drawing comic-y in the illustration majour. And do I care? No. And will I get work? Hell to the yes. :) You're no different. Just do what you want to do, and try your best to turn the blinders on to whatever negativity you think you're receiving. <3
